About Victoria Tinney Structures
We are a structural and civil engineering design consultancy, passionate about designing elegant and sustainable design solutions on both new build and refurbishment projects, no matter what the scale. Our core values are:
Creativity – We are always curious, seeking inspiration from the existing building or the site locations, and considering design options which are best suited to meet the project brief and sustainability targets.
Collaboration – People make the project, and we enjoy developing relationships with other designers to enable us to share knowledge and continuously improve design.
Integrity – We hold all our work to the highest levels of quality, to ensure clarity and to reduce the risk of error in design and construction.
Engineering Overview
We work on a variety of projects, and you should be confident in reviewing the brief, producing outline scheme design and detailed design on small and medium sized projects.
You should have a good grounding in concrete, steel, timber and masonry design, and be able to produce clear and easy to follow calculation packs using word, excel, TEDDS, Tekla, and other proprietary software.
We work in Revit, and you will work alongside our experienced technicians to produce drawings of high quality. Experience producing models and/or sketches in Revit is advantageous, but not necessary – training will be provided.
We want to drive forward sustainable design on projects, and the ideal candidate must have a passion for this aspect of design. We will provide support to help you develop an ability to discuss alternative design solutions and identify opportunities on projects.
Competency is particularly important to us. You must be working towards chartership with The Institution of Structural or Civil Engineers, and be able to demonstrate your commitment to training and keeping up to speed with ongoing and upcoming changes to design best practice, design standards and building regulations.
